Okay everyone, I'm doing a GIVEAWAY!!!! For
about 3 or 4 years now I've had lots of my students and fellow teachers
say I should write a book. The only thing is since I teach and create
in so many mediums and crafts I'm having a hard time
deciding what the focus should be for the book. Right now I have a
book proposal almost ready to send to publishers and the focus is mixed
media for paper, fiber, metal and paint artists. So...before I send it
out there (ready to be accepted or rejected) I had an idea....I thought I
would ask my loyal blog friends, students and family: What do you want to see in a
craft/art/mixed media type book? What is lacking in the market that
hasn't been done already? Likes/dislikes about whats out there? Do you
want a pretty picture book full of eye candy with lots of innovative
ideas, step by step instruction and techniques (that's my preference)?
Do you have several crafts that you dabble in and would like to see
more cross over techniques using different or unexpected mediums to
apply to your craft that would make it unique? If you know me and my
style, what is it about my work that would make a good book? Would a
book on funky, mixed media tassels be up your alley or more variety on
several mediums? So what's the giveaway? $60 gift certificate to my
Etsy store, shadesofakasha.etsy.com!!!! All you have to do is leave a
comment on what you would like me to write a book about in the crafting
field and what it is about my work that pleases you (please try to be
specific). Leave a comment here or my facebook page by June 15. Only one entry per person. Be
sure to leave your contact info so I can get a hold of you. Winner will be announced June 16th! Thank you
soooooo much!!

I'd love a book of mixed media 3d objects... Using junk and found objects....loving the caged doll!
hhmmm, this is tough....between your Santos doll and your jewelry. If it was jewelry please be sure to include instruction on your lockets, since I cant get to your classes :)
Great job Robin! I'm excited for you about the book...now we both know there's already tons of them out there, but those that I find most helpful and wanting to own myself, are the ones that have varied projects with varied levels of difficulty(and of course those written by people I know:)I of course love books with great photography close-ups and examples of finished projects. But I especially like those that build on techniques featured in that same book. For example, if you have a basic paper clay project, maybe the next project that follows, can include paper clay in addition to something else?Building to something more involved as the pages turn???Don't know how long you want this input to be...I've got lots of crazy ideas...if ya just want to call me feel free :)Keep me posted, so happy for you, love ya, Bridgette
Hi Robin, Congrats on taking the book plunge. I'm looking forward to it and know whatever you decide it will be wonderful!
I definitely prefer books with a lot of eye candy and clear, detailed instruction. I also like the idea of different and crossover mediums. (Your cage dolls are my absolute favs!)
Your giveaway prize is so very generous..thanks for the chance to win.

I would love to see a book on making soldered jewelry with vintage and found elements including the tips and techniques. Thank you.
Danielle
Count me in I would love your book. I love your style and the fact that you are all over the place...you do it all. Unlike me I just start projects. You have such confidence it just shows in your work. I am partial to all your work with the spiritual influence. Your jewelry is the best. I can't get to your class way over there in Ca. but the book would be grand. Kathy
I would love to see you write a book about your jewelry- how to use repurposed and vintage objects in jewelry making, soldering techniques, bangle making and design, how to make those lovely hands and incorporting those into jewlry design.....any of your jewelry making tips! I looooove your jewelry! I love the vintage look if anything that you make!
Congratulations on your new upcoming book!!! I would love to see all the medias you love, Jewerly, clay, etc. I would love to see easy step by step instructions easy to find parts and pieces for the projects and pictures. I know just by taking the few classes from you that whatever you do it will be perfect!!!!
